Welcome to Hunkerdown Guide Service...a rustic Maine hideaway!
Built in 1996 as a rustic Maine hunting lodge, it sits on 22 wooded acres overlooking Towne Pond, Buck Hill, and the Doughty Mountains, on a private dirt road just minutes from downtown in Monson, Maine.

This is an area of mountains and lakes with access to the prime timber lands of the North Maine woods. This area is famous for its abundance of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Since the time of Henry Thoreau's visits in the mid 1800's, the Moosehead Region has been a Mecca for people looking for a unique outdoor experience. We offer all the excitement of hunting coupled with the beauty of the "Moosehead Lake" region of Maine. We cannot guarantee you a kill, but we do promise you that we will do our very best to help you achieve your trophy of a lifetime.
